Steel Structures

Safe, Efficient and Practical Steel Structural Design

TTS Engineering & Consultancy Services provides structural analysis and design for steel-framed buildings and supporting structures. Our designs respond to the client’s needs, the building layout and available site conditions. We focus on structural safety, practical connections, efficient use of steel and arrangements that are suitable for fabrication and construction.

OUR SERVICES

Practical solutions for real building needs.

We provide engineering solutions for shops, commercial premises, industrial sheds, roof structures, canopies, building extensions and other appropriate steel-framed developments. We also assess supporting frames for special architectural or building-service requirements.

Our approach considers both the primary members and the overall structural system. Steel frames must resist gravity loads, wind actions and other applicable loads while providing adequate stability and acceptable deflection.

OUR TECHNICAL APPROACH

Our technical approach.

Our Steel Structural Design Approach. The following design and assessment services are tailored to the particular project requirements and available site information.

01

Steel Frames and Long-Span Roofs

We design steel columns, beams, rafters, trusses and portal frames to suit the required building use. Where practical, longer structural spans reduce intermediate columns and provide clear areas for shops, workshops, storage facilities and other commercial activities. Member sizes and structural arrangements are selected after considering loads, deflections and economy.

02

Structural Stability and Bracing

We assess the overall stability of steel buildings, including the transfer of horizontal forces to suitable bracing systems, moment-resisting frames or other stabilising arrangements. Particular attention is given to wind forces, roof uplift, frame sway and the stability of slender members.

03

Steel Connections and Anchorage

Steel connections are an important part of the structural system. We design and check bolted and welded connections, cleats, gusset plates, base plates and holding-down bolts to transfer forces safely between members and into the foundations. Detailed analysis, including finite element methods, may be used where appropriate.

04

Special Steel and Aluminium Support Structures

We provide structural design or assessment of selected secondary frames, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar panel supports, canopies, façade supports and similar systems. Wind loading, anchorage and the capacity of the existing supporting structure are considered where relevant.

05

Computer-Aided Analysis and Practical Detailing

Modern engineering software is used to assess load paths, member actions, displacements and structural behaviour. Design calculations and drawings are prepared in accordance with applicable design standards, with attention to connection details, constructability, corrosion protection and the intended service conditions.

06

Coordination and Construction Support

We coordinate the steel structural design with architects, contractors and other engineers to reduce conflicts during construction. Technical clarifications and site inspections may be provided as agreed, including advice on connections, anchorage, erection-related issues and compliance with the structural drawings.

OUR COMMITMENT

Safe Structures,
Smart Solutions.

Our aim is to provide safe, economical and buildable steel structural solutions that meet functional and architectural requirements, while giving proper consideration to member stability, connections, durability and construction methods.
